Upgrading from Pretty Links Lite to Pro only requires activating your license key. You don’t need to remove Lite first. Your existing pretty links and click data stay in your WordPress database and remain available after the upgrade.
This document covers the upgrade from Lite to Pro. It doesn’t cover renewing an expired subscription.
Upgrade Pretty Links Lite to Pro
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard as an administrator.
- Navigate to Dashboard > Pretty Links > Options > License tab. Alternatively, click Manage License under Pretty Links on the Dashboard > Plugins page.
- Paste your license key from your account page into the License Key field, and click Activate License.
- A notice about an edition mismatch appears at the top of the page. Click Install [your edition] now in that notice.
- Once the installation finishes, the Pro menus and options appear.
You can also activate your license key in the onboarding wizard.
If your links seem to be missing after the upgrade, follow the steps for restoring missing pretty links. For a new site, follow the Pretty Links installation steps instead.
