Because Pretty Links is a WordPress plugin that can run on many hosting configurations, alongside other plugins and themes, we cannot guarantee redirection performance.
The good news: if your pretty links redirect slower than you’d like, there are things you can try to improve performance.
- Switch to Simple Click Count Tracking unter Dashboard > Pretty Links > Options > Reporting > Tracking Style. This disables some data about where your clicks come from, but should improve performance;
- Disable Filter-Roboter unter Dashboard > Pretty Links > Options > Reporting > Filter Robots. If enabled, it can affect redirection performance. Disabling it will likely increase your click counts, because bot clicks are no longer filtered;
- Disable Nachverfolgung on individual links by editing each link under Advanced Options > Tracking, or use the bulk-edit interface on the Pretty Links list. This disables click tracking on those links;
- Disable other plugins one at a time to see whether any are slowing your redirects;
- Temporarily switch to the default WordPress theme to see whether your theme is slowing your redirects;
- Work with your web host to ensure your database is configured and optimized, especially the table named
wp_prli_links. This is the table Pretty Links uses to look up your links and their targets, so optimizing it is important for performance; - Upgrade your hosting account, or work with your host to improve redirect performance;
- Work with your host to ensure caching and other front-end technologies aren’t interfering with your pretty link redirects.
